Travel insurance provider Battleface recently partnered with The African Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) in order to boost African tourism by ensuring travellers can enjoy their holiday knowing they are covered. The latest partnership will allow ATTA members to work with Battleface to assist their business and support consumer travel insurance needs. Battleface has been providing COVID-19 insurance in the U.K. since July, including countries currently advised against travelling to by the FCO.
Battleface has been developed by Tangiers Insurance Services Ltd, an insurance intermediary and coverholder at Lloyd’s of London, and covers travellers to destinations in Africa, including regions where travel is restricted under Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and other governments’ travel advisories. The insurance is set to offer 24/7 access to on-the-ground field agents who can assist with emergencies, cover for COVID-19 medical expenses for those 59 and under, as well as provide coverage for medical evacuation and accidents, adventure sport and travel to isolated places.
Hugh King, Business Development Director UK and Europe, Battleface said in a statement that the company very excited to be announcing the new partnership with ATTA. He mentioned that with Africa open for business, the company is looking forward to being of service to their 600 plus members and supporting their objective of promoting tourism to Africa. Chris Mears, CEO, ATTA, added that authorities are delighted to be partnering with battleface, and introducing them to the global network of African travel and tourism specialists.
He mentioned that right travel insurance is essential in today’s environment to help re-build confidence and encourage travellers back to Africa and said that Battleface have worked in areas of the world where the FCO and global government bodies advise against all but essential travel, so they are well versed in understanding today’s requirements.
